This Thick Copper PCB Power Board increases resistance to thermal strain, current carrying capacity, connector position and mechanical strength of the PTH hole. It uses special materials to reach its full potential without circuit failure. It reduces product size by integrating multiple copper weights on the same layer of circuitry. Heavy-duty copper vias transmit higher current through the board, helping to transfer heat to the external heat sink. This Thick Copper PCB Power Board is manufactured using a combination of copper etching and electroplating processes. The circuit layer begins with a copper foil as a foil that is etched to remove unwanted copper and inoculated to the thickness of the added copper with planes, traces, pads and plated through holes. This product uses an epoxy substrate to laminate all circuit layers into a complete package. This Thick Copper PCB Power Board is produced in exactly the same way using a heavy copper circuit board, despite the use of specialized etching and plating techniques such as high speed or step plating and differential etching. Advances in electroplating technology have allowed the formation of heavy copper features through a combination of electroplating and etching, resulting in straight sidewalls and negligible undercuts.
